Privacy Policy

1. Information we process

Account and contact information

Your name, email, mobile number, verification status, account ID, optional profile photo, signup date and recent activity/sign-in dates. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, not readable passwords. Verification and recovery records help secure your account.

Learning activity

Questions you submit to Quant AI, generated answers, saved answer history, query counts, quiz answers, scores, completion times, leaderboard results and video progress.

Content you choose to share

Uploaded question images, profile photos, chat messages and images, comments, likes, ratings, reviews and reports. Name, photo, leaderboard entries, community posts and published reviews can be visible to other users. Do not post confidential information in community areas.

Notifications and technical information

When notifications are enabled, we process a push token, an app installation identifier, notification preferences and delivery/open records. Our servers and service providers receive connection information such as IP addresses, request/device information and operational logs to deliver and protect the service.

Support correspondence

Information you send to our support email, including information needed to investigate a problem or verify an account-deletion request.

Chat safety preferences

The account IDs of users you block and when you blocked them. We use these records to restrict chat interactions across your devices. A block remains until you remove it or either account is deleted. Blocking does not delete existing posts or prevent authorised moderation review.

2. Why we use this information

We use information to create and verify accounts, deliver maths answers and learning features, save progress, run leaderboards and community features, send service notifications, respond to support, enforce usage limits, review reported content and prevent abuse.

Basic calculator and reference tools run on your device. The app does not require access to your contacts, precise location or microphone for its maths features. Selected photos or camera captures are used only for the feature you choose.

3. Service providers and external services

• OpenAI: questions and selected question images are sent to the OpenAI API to generate answers. Requests include a pseudonymous account safety identifier. The application requests store: false; this does not mean the provider has no security or abuse-monitoring retention. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
• MSG91: mobile numbers, OTP requests and verification information are processed for mobile authentication. Anti-abuse CAPTCHA services, where enabled, may process browser/device and connection information. See MSG91's privacy policy.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers Android push notifications using device/app identifiers and notification data. YouTube/Google: processes connection and playback information when embedded videos are loaded or played. See Google's privacy policy.
• Hosting and email delivery providers: host application data, deliver verification/recovery emails and process support mail. They process information needed to provide these services.

External websites, including linked ExamTune store pages, have their own privacy and purchase terms. This app does not receive payment card details through its own account or maths-answer forms. Information may be processed in countries where our providers operate.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse and protect users. We do not sell your account information.

4. Storage and retention

• Account information and associated learning/community records are retained while the account exists, unless removed earlier through available controls or moderation.
• Email-only signups that remain unverified for 10 minutes are eligible for automatic removal. Accounts with a verified mobile login are not removed just because their email remains unverified.
• Question images are transmitted for the current AI request; the application's saved-answer history stores question text and the generated solution, not the original uploaded image. Images can remain temporarily in the current device session. Shared chat images and profile photos are stored until removed with their associated records.
• Deleting an account removes its associated records from the active application database and initiates removal of associated stored media. A minimal deletion audit containing numeric account/actor IDs and time is kept for up to 90 days for security. Temporary anti-abuse records and consumed OTP proof hashes remain until their normal expiry to prevent replay.
• Infrastructure logs, support mail and hosting backups are separate from the active account database. They may remain for the provider's configured retention cycle, or longer where a legal/security obligation requires it. Contact us for the applicable retention details or a request covering these records. Provider-held records are subject to the provider's own retention and deletion processes; an app deletion does not instantly erase every provider log or backup.

5. Security and device storage

Production connections use HTTPS. Access controls, expiring sessions, password hashing and verification checks help protect accounts. No system can guarantee absolute security. Never send your password or OTP to support.

We use a session cookie or the Android app's session storage to keep you signed in. Device storage holds preferences such as theme, quiz text size and an installation identifier. These are not advertising cookies. You can sign out, revoke notification/camera permissions or clear app/browser data through your device settings.

6. Your choices and deletion

You can update your profile, change contact details with verification, manage notifications and request correction or deletion of your data. To delete your student account, open the account menu or My Profile and choose Delete account. Confirm your password and permanent deletion.

You can also request deletion without installing the app or signing in through our account-deletion page. We verify ownership before acting on an email request. Deletion affects both the website and Android account. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete an account.

Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights to access, correct, restrict or obtain your information. Send requests to support@examtune.com.

7. Younger users

Halwa Maths AI is intended for learners aged 13 and older, and is not intended for children under 13. We do not request or verify a date of birth as part of signup. Where parental permission is legally required, a parent or guardian should supervise use and contact us before providing personal information. If you believe a child has supplied information without required permission, contact support so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this page when our data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes may also be announced in the app.
